As I write this the gentleman from Illinois, via Kansas, Barack Obama, has made history by becoming the first African-American to be elected president of the United States of America.

And the word that has been ricocheting through my mind is the word “manipulation.” I’ve been meditating on it for weeks and how everyone, no matter how good or bad, will, at some point in their life use intellectual and emotional manipulation to obtain something they desire from someone else.

Sometimes I’m ashamed to be Caucasian.

Two young white, male morons named David Endsley and Isaac Clark were recently sentenced for a 2007 hate crime that happened at a small-town graduation party.

The dense duo, hailing from the boomtowns of Waterville and Blue Rapids, Kansas, admitted they tied Andrew Ralph, who is African-American, to a chair, taunted him with racial slurs and painted his legs and arms white.

Let’s face it--Americans have a screwed-up view of sex

Miley Cyrus is not a media whore.

Not yet, anyway.

Anyone watching pop culture knows by now that famed photographer Annie Leibovitz took some pictures of 15-year-old Cyrus for Vanity Fair. In one she appears semi-nude, holding a blanket in front of her.

This begs the question: did young women originally start playing up their sexuality for attention and success, or did the culture demand it and now it’s just expected?
